Failsafe

If your model goes out of range, loses signal, or if the battery power is low, failsafe is designed to automatically cut your model’s engine and return the aircraft to straight and level. Without failsafe, a model losing signal could quite easily keep flying until it runs out of fuel or battery! Expensive and dangerous!

Failsafe can often be programmed into your model (check your TX or RX manual), or inexpensive devices can be purchased quite readily.

Here’s an easy way to see if your model already has failsafe:

  1. secure your model on the ground,
  2. run the engine to tickover,
  3. switch off your transmitter.

If your model has failsafe, after a few seconds, the motor will stop.
